CABANATUAN CITY -- Separate buy-bust operations conducted in Nueva Ecija over the weekend have resulted in the killing of a lone suspected drug pusher and the arrest of eight others including a minor, two siblings and a 40-year-old jobless woman.
Provincial police director Senior Supt. Leon Victor Z. Rosete said the buy-bust operation conducted in Bgy. Platero, General Natividad turned into a bloody confrontation when suspected drug pusher Almarcelino Quimson, of Bgy. Talipapa, Cabanatuan City resisted arrest and fired shots at operating lawmen after he and his cohort sensed their poseur-buyer was a policeman.
Rosete said Quimson’s unidentified accomplice, who was wearing a white bull cap, black jacket, and maong shorts, eluded arrest after fleeing towards Cabanatuan on board a black Rusi motorcycle.
In this city, police head Supt. Ponciano P. Zafra said five suspected drug pushers were collared in separate sting operations on Saturday and Sunday.
Zafra said Lalaine Musni, alias Charmagne, 40, of Bgy. Lolomboy, Bocaue, Bulacan was nabbed in a buy-bust operation at the corner of Don Manuel and General Tinio Streets, Bgy. Kapitan Pepe Subd. at 12:30 a.m. yesterday.
Also collared in Bgy. Mabini Homesite at 8 p.m. Saturday were siblings Eric, 37, and Ronaldo Alonzo, 33, a Bantay-bayan member, both of Villa Luz Subd., Bgy. Mabini Homesite, and their cohort Bobet Molas, 38, of Bgy. Mangino, Gapan City.
Zafra said the fifth arrested drug suspect was identified as Emilio Roque, 48, who was nabbed in a buy-bust operation that transpired along Rizal Street, Bgy. Rizdelis.
In Bgy. Bayanihan, Gapan City, arrested was Antonio De Vera, 32, of Block 317, Lot 10, Mockingbird Street, Bgy. Rizal, Makati City, said police chief Supt. Criselda Y. De Guzman. He yielded a P500 marked money bill and three plastic sachets containing shabu during the sting operation conducted at 10 p.m.
Sto. Domingo police station head, Chief Insp. Joel M. Dela Cruz said they nabbed a 17-year-old drug suspect, a resident of Bgy. Poblacion West, Science City of Muñoz, after selling a plastic sachet with shabu with a street value of P500 to an undercover anti-drug operative.
In Bgy. Nieves, San Leonardo, Rosete said his men collared Jefferson Evangelio, 34, a painter, for allegedly selling a P500-worth of shabu contained in a small plastic sachet.
