CABANATUAN CITY — Nueva Ecija provincial police director Col. Marvin Joe C. Saro yesterday warned all his men not to defy the strict “no-take policy” of new PNP Chief General Debold M. Sinas and ensure their non-participation in all forms of illegal gambling activities.
The acting PD’s stern warning came following the arrest of an Army reservist and three other suspects after they were caught in the act of playing “pusoy” in Pantoc Hacienda, Bgy. San Francisco, San Antonio at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
San Antonio municipal police officer-in-charge Major Rammel L. Ebarle identified the arrested suspects as Abdon Reyes, 55, Army reservist; Lauro Alarilla, 63; Michael Pagudin, 43; and Marisol Viesca, 23, all of Pantoc Hacienda, Bgy. San Francisco.
Ebarle said the raid was conducted after his men received a tip from a concerned citizen that an ongoing illegal gambling activity was taking place in the area.
He added the seized evidence consisted of a deck of playing cards and bet money in various denominations totalling P1,190.
Saro said charges for violation of Republic Act 9287 were slapped against the suspects.
