SAN JOSE CITY – Another supposed “head-hunter” willing to pay a P200-million bounty to kill President Duterte was nabbed by the police here on Tuesday night.
City police head Lt. Col. Heryl “Daguit” Bruno identified the arrested suspect as Fernando Dandan Jr., 19, alias Junjun, farmer, of Zone 6, Sitio Dilain, Bgy. Abar 2nd, this city.
Bruno said the suspect was arrested for threatening to kill the president by posting in his social media account that he was offering the amount of P200-million as reward money to those who could kill Mr. Duterte and bring his head to him.
The alleged Facebook post offering the said bounty was posted on the suspect’s account named Jhunroa Dandan at 3:55 p.m. on May 16.
“200MILLION kung sino makakapatay kay DUTERTE dalin nyo ulo nya sakin dito ko sa bgy dilain,” said the suspect in his FB post.
However, the alleged crime was only reported to the authorities at 6:20 p.m. on May 19, Tuesday or three days later, prompting Bruno to order his men to immediately launch a manhunt against the suspect, who was subsequently arrested.
Bruno said they have filed charges for violation of the Cybercrime prevention act of 2012 and inciting to sedition against the suspect before the city prosecutor’s office here.
The suspect's arrest came after three others, including a male teacher, were earlier nabbed in separate instances for allegedly offering a bounty through their FB posts for anyone who could kill Mr. Duterte.
