SCIENCE City of Muñoz -- A sexagenarian-farmer got the biggest shock of his life when his P1.3-million cash that came from the proceeds of his pawned farm lot went missing and believed stolen by his live-in partner, who fled with the money along with their daughter here on Tuesday, a belated police report said yesterday.
Provincial police director Senior Supt. Leon Victor Z. Rosete identified the robbed victim as Ernesto Aguila, 69, of Bgy. Villa Cuizon, this city.
Rosete said the victim sought police help after his live-in partner Susan Flores, 37, a native of Dimasalang, Masbate did not return home after leaving the house to buy food at the market. She left the house with their youngest daughter at 7 p.m., said Rosete.
The police official said what truly shocked the victim was when he discovered that the P1.3-million cash which he kept inside their cabinet was missing.
Rosete said the man tried many times to call his live-in partner’s mobile phone number but she could not be reached anymore.
The victim told the police that the money which was proceeds from his pawned farm lot, was believed stolen by the woman.
Police re still investigating the incident.
