VIGAN CITY - An overseas Filipino worker on Sunday was shot dead in front of the people attending a wake in Bgy. Salindeg, this city.
Slain was Jenifer Quiton, 40.
Police are pursuing suspect Edgardo Quidolit.
The victim and the suspect are both residents of Bgy. Salindeg, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
Quiton was playing cards at the wake of Evelio Banza in the village when Quidolit suddenly arrived.
The suspect, for unknown reason, shot the victim thrice, to the surprise of the people at the wake.
Witnesses rushed Quiton to Gabriela Silang Hospital in Vigan City, where she was declared dead on arrival by attending physician, Dr. Milalyn Ruth Delizo.
The suspect fled after the gun attack.
Authorities are eyeing old grudge as possible motive for the killing.
