Fil-Chi trader falls for drug trafficking

A 45-YEAR-OLD  Filipino-Chinese businessman listed as a ‘high-value target’ of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency was arrested in an anti-narcotics operation in Tuguegarao City late Saturday morning, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chair, Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva reported yesterday.

Richard Sy Chua, a resident of no. 12 Luna Street, Centro 7, Tuguegarao City was placed under arrest after he sold shabu to an undercover officer of the PDEA Regional Office 2 in Centro 10, Tuguegarao City around 11:45 a.m. Saturday.

Villanueva said recovered from the suspect were a heat-sealed plastic sachet containing the prohibited drugs and two marked P1,000 bills.

PDEA officers led by Agent Sean Reggae Fugen and local policemen led by Lieutenants Jefferson Berida and Jeremiah Vinegas placed the suspect under arrest.

The suspect is now being held at the Tuguegarao City police lock-up facility facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Villanueva.
