Fire hurts 4, destroys 150 houses in Bacoor

BACOOR CITY, Cavite – At least four people on Friday were injured while hundreds of families were left homeless by a fire that hit a residential area in Sitio Silangan, Bgy. Talaba 7, this city.

According to Bacoor City Fire Marshal Chief Insp. Jude Sumeg-Ang,  they are verifying the names of the injured.

Sumeg-Ang said a stove left unattended started the fire at 6:30 a.m. on Friday.

The fire reached fourth alarm.

Firefighters  arrived and helped contain the blaze.

The fire, which caused moderate to heavy traffic at the Aguinaldo Highway, was declared under control after an hour.

Sumeg-Ang said affected families are now sheltered at the Talaba covered court and the Talaba Elementary School.

The local government immediately provided assistance to the fire victims through the Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office under Richard Quion.
