Grandma, man die in Cainta fire

TWO people, including an 81-year-old woman, on Sunday died in a fire that left almost 800 families homeless in Cainta, Rizal.

The Bureau of Fire Protection identified the fatalities as Maria Refol Cabucas, 81, and John Bell Lorenzo, 26, whose bodies were found burned beyond recognition.

At least 15 others are undergoing treatment for minor injuries.

The fire started at a house on 3rd St., San Buena Compound in Bgy. Sto. Domingo at 5:06 p.m. on Sunday. The blaze spread to the adjacent Gruar Subdivision.

The fire reached Task Force Alpha and was declared fire out at 9:58 p.m. on the same day.
