Guard takes POGO employes’ CPs

POLICE arrested a 32-year-old security guard who took and carted away around 70 cellular phones owned by employees of an online gambling firm (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations) Monday before dawn in Paranaque city.

Paranaque police chief P/Col. Robin King Sarmiento identified the arrested suspect as Joefrey Vergara, security guard of PITX Tower I in Bgy. Tambo who was seen on CCTV footage coming in and out at Unit 588 where the mobile phones of POGO employees were being deposited.

PITX Tower I general manager Peng Chen, 31, Chinese national, told police that the incident happened at around 10 a.m. Monday. He reported the incident to the police at around 2:30 a.m. yesterday.

Peng said employees of POGO are required to surrender their mobile phones before going to work and all of it were being deposited to Unit 588.
