TWO teenagers were killed while another was wounded in separate attacks conducted by still unidentified motorcycle-riding men in Cebu late night Monday and early morning yesterday, a Police Regional Office 7 report said.
The two fatalities identified as Manap Mapintao, a 17-year old tricycle driver and his passenger Paul Anwar Villareal, a 16-year old Grade 10 student of the Sudtunggan Night High School were shot and killed in Tiange, Barangay Babag II in Lapu-Lapu City 9:10 p.m. Monday, police said.
An initial investigation showed that two still unidentified men who were each driving a motorbike tailed the two victims who are both residents of Dubai Sudtunggan Tumoy in Bgy. Basak.
When they reached the corner of Calawisan-Babag Road, the gunmen suddenly shot Mapintao without any provocation. Anwar was shot and killed as he was trying to flee the scene.
Both victims died on the spot due to several gunshot wounds in their bodies.
PRO7 director, Brigadier General Debold M. Sinas said that while officers from the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 7 was processing the scene, a group of Muslim people arrived and forcibly took the body of Mapintao.
On the other hand, the body of Villareal was claimed by her mother Elma who told investigators that her son asked her permission to go outside their house not knowing the boy would be riding along with Mapintao.
In Mandaue City, unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen shot and wounded Jerome Suson,39, a resident of Sector 4, Baas in Bgy. Pagsabungan yesterday morning.
An investigation showed that the victim was driving his motorcycle with his daughter as passenger when he was shot. The victim was taken to the North General Hospital for treatment.
Sinas said that the motive and identities of the suspects are still being investigated as of press time.
