LUCENA CITY— A hardware executive died on the spot after he was shot in the head by still unidentified perpetrator near the establishment on Thursday night.
City police chief, Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea said Roberto Levantino Aldon Jr., 34, assistant manager of Citi Hardware Lucena located along Maharlika Highway, Bgy. Ibabang Iyam, suffered a gunshot wound in the head and died instantly.
Probers said Aldon was walking towards their staff house a few meters away from the hardware when the suspect approached from behind and shot him at close range hitting him in the head.
The suspect then fled on foot casually and was already gone far when responding policemen arrived, they said.
Witnesses told police that the gunman was about 30 years old, medium built, 5’6” in height, wearing baseball cap, brown shirt, jeans, rubber shoes and backpack with his face covered.
On request of Albacea, personnel of Quezon Provoncial Crime Laboratory Office led by Major Dickson Mercado rushed to the area and processed the crime scene.
Police are still investigating the incident.
