House thief kills teacher, injures another in Bukidnon

A volunteer teacher was killed while her colleague was wounded when they were repeatedly stabbed by a robber who entered their house Friday afternoon in Pangantucan, Bukidnon.

The fatality was identified as Genefir “Gen” Buckley, 24, volunteer teacher of Jesuit Volunteer Philippines.

Taken to Pangantucan Doctors Hospital for treatment was Ann Kathleen Gatdula, 30.

Buckley and Gatdula were volunteers at Pangantucan Community High School.

According to Pangantucan police chief  Major Jerry Paronia,  around 2 p.m. the victims cane home  in Kinilayan Village, Barangay Poblacion, and saw suspect  Arnold Naquilla, 36, already inside their house looking for something.

The victims shouted for help prompting  the suspect to stab them then fled.

The victims were rushed to the nearest hospital but Buckley was declared dead upon arrival.

Gatdula was able to describe the suspect to the police officers who arrested  Naquilla.

Police said Naquilla was a notorious robber in the area.
