Laborer slain after verbal tussle

SAN JOSE CITY — A 28-year-old laborer was stabbed dead following a heated altercation with another man on Tuesday night here.

Police head Lt. Col. Heryl Bruno said victim Roque Inogacio, construction worker, of Zone 1, Bgy. Caanawan and suspect Celso Quintero, 50, of Zone 2, Sitio Tanibong, Bgy. Abar 2nd had a prior verbal tussle with the former not knowing that the latter was armed with a bladed weapon.

Their heated argument further continued at 9:30 p.m. until the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times in different parts of the body that caused his instantaneous death.

Bruno said the victim was declared dead-on-arrival at the San Jose City General Hospital while the suspect immediately fled after the stabbing but  was subsequently nabbed by responding barangay tanods and immediately brought to the police for proper disposition.
