PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency chair, Director General Aaron N. Aquino, yesterday announced the arrest of a suspected ‘high-value drug target’ in Mindanao during a buy-bust operation in Lanao del Sur on Wednesday.
The official identified the suspect who is now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 as Mohammad Totodan Timan alias ‘Orak.’
He said that the suspect was arrested past 1 p.m. Wednesday by members of the PDEA Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and the local police during an entrapment operation in BPS Village, South Malabang District, Lanao del Sur.
Aquino said that recovered from the suspect’s possession were one box containing some 500 grams of suspected shabu worth P3.4 million and the marked money paid to him by an undercover officer.
He added that he has ordered a hunt for a still unidentified male cohort of Timan who managed to escape arrest during the sting.
