Lawyer falls prey to Bukas Kotse thief in Ecija

STA. ROSA, Nueva Ecija — A suspected “Basag-Kotse” Gang member struck here on Friday night and victimized a 45-year-old lawyer.

The lawyer’s pick-up truck was burglarized with the suspect carting away his cal.9mm pistol, cash worth P50,000, laptop, and other personal belongings.

Town police head Major Fortune Dianne Bernardo identified the victim as Atty. Ricardo Atayde Jr., of 31 Del Pilar St., this town.

The heist which was perpetrated by an unidentified helmet-wearing man on board a motorcycle, occurred in Bgy. Isla here at 9:01 p.m.

Stolen by the suspect from the vehicle was the lawyer’s brown sling bag containing his Glock 17 cal. 9mm with two loaded magazines.

The suspect also fled with the lawyer’s P50,000, his Lenovo laptop, firearm license, and permit-to-carry firearm cards for his three guns, and other personal items.

Bernardo said the suspect took the items after smashing open with a hard object the glass window of the right passenger side of the Nissan pick-up truck, which was parked unattended alongside the road shoulder.

She said the suspect was clad in a black jacket and maong pants, is approximately 5’6 to 5’8 in height, and medium-built.

The suspect fled towards Zaragosa town on board an unidentified motorcycle.
