LUCENA CITY— Another suspected drug pusher was killed while his two cohorts including a woman managed to evade arrest in an alleged shootout during a drug buy bust at Purok Isla Matahimik, Bgy. Cotta, here, on Thursday night.
Quezon police director, Col. Audie Madrideo, said drug suspect Fernando Fabie, 35, suffered gunshot wounds and died on the spot while his companions Elizabeth Ario alias Zabeth and Christian Ario alias Ian escaped.
Madrideo said Fabie has been included in the city police drug watchlist.
Quoting city police director Lt. Col. Reydante Ariza, Madrideo said the shootout happened at 9:20 p.m. while police operatives were conducting a drug bust targetting were the trio.
He said after poseur buyer PSSG Pedro Wagan managed to buy some 0.28 grams of suspected shabu from Fabie, he handed a marked P500 to Elizabeth.
Christian sensed they were dealing with a cop prompting him to alarm Fabie who quickly pulled a cal. 38 revolver and opened fire.
Madrideo said back up security PSSG Mark Riel Cànilon fired back, fatally hitting Fabie but his two colleagues managed to flee.
Technical assistance from Scene of the Crime Operatives was requested by the city police to process the crime scene.
Around 50 suspected shooters have been killed in alleged shootout with policemen since Ariza assumed his post as city police director.
