Magnitude 5.4 quake jolts Ilocos Norte

A MAGNITUDE 5.4 earthquake yesterday morning jolted Ilocos Norte.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake struck the northwestern part of Pagudpud town at 10:48 a.m. yesterday.

It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 15 kilometers.

Intensity 5 was felt in the towns of Pasuguin and Bacarro,  Laoag City in Ilocos Norte, and the city of Tuguegarao.

Intensity 4 was recorded in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, intensity 3 in Sinait, and Santa towns in Ilocos Sur, and Sudipen in La Union.

Intensity 2 was felt in Baguio City.
