Man dies, 2 hurt in Philippine Military Academy compound mishap

BAGUIO City -- A man died while two others were injured after being pinned by an Isuzu Elf (RKG 352) driven by one Sherwin Sumangen Alipio, 30, of 67 Liteng, Pacdal, at around 9 p.m. Tuesday on Quarry St., Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Compound, Fort Del Pilar.

Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 4 identified the fatality as Jonie Zizon, of San Manuel, Pangasinan.

A report said the victims alighted from the truck to remove a barricade that blocked the road, but the vehicle moved downwards and flipped, pinning the victim to death.

The other victims, who sustained slight injuries, were identified as Alexander Agustin Alberto, 21, single, and Saldy delos Santos Alberto, 26, both construction workers from the EP Barracks of the said place.

The victims were rushed to PMA Hospital.

Police said the victim’s employer, Jhony Sapain Masweng, 36, married, of FA014 Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet, has promised to help his driver for the expenses incurred from the incident until the burial of the victim.
