ANGELES CITY – A 30-year-old man was found buried in a shallow grave inside the compound of a Baptist church in Barangay Malabanias here the other day.

In a report to acting city police director Col. Narvin Mangune, Station 4 commander Maj. Dickson Tolentino identified the man as Mark Anthony Agapito Cruz, 30, from Sasmuan in Pampanga, who worked at the structure being built inside the church’s premises.

Police are now hunting down four persons of interests who also work in the construction site. They include Marvin Ramos, 42; Medard Gorospe Jr., 25; Bonifacio Lingahan, 34; and Charlie Reyes, of legal age, all residents of Victoria, Tarlac.

The victim’s body was discovered after a pastor noticed a mound of loose soil covered with plastic roofing near the site where a part of the church building was being constructed.

When they removed the cover, they found a shallow grave where the victim was buried.

Stay-in church workers said that two nights before the discovery of the grave, they noticed the four construction workers going back and forth in their barracks, bringing with them a sack of cement. The next day, the construction workers left for home.

The four construction workers did not reportback to work.

Investigators found blood spattered at the workers’ barracks.

Also in Barangay Malabanias here, police arrested one Joshua Lazatin, 20, a waiter at Sakura KTV Bar, for carrying a cal. .38 Armscor revolver loaded with three live ammunition.

When accosted, he failed to present any document for the gun so he was arrested for violation of Republic Act 10591.

In Barangay Pulungbulo in this city, policemen who conducted a buy-bust operation arrested Redentor Sebastian, Jollan Basa, and Wilfredo Dimapilis, all of legal age.

After coordinating with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 3, policemen conducted a buy-bust against Sebastian, who sold P500 worth of shabu to a poseur-buyer.

Through body search, the suspect also yielded three more sachets of suspected shabu.

His two companions were arrested after they were allegedly caught in the act of having a pot session inside Sebastian’s residence.

They are facing charges for violation of RA 9165.
