Man killed, wife hurt in Ecija gun attack

TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija — Unidentified gunmen on Tuesday morning peppered with bullets a tricycle being ridden by a couple, resulting in the death of the husband and the wounding of the woman, police here said yesterday.

Killed was Romeo Ramos, 58, while hurt was his wife Editha, 58, both of Bgy. Homestead 2, this town.

Reports said the gun attack occurred in Bgy. Pula at 4:30 a.m.

The couple was riding a red Kawasaki Bajaj tricycle when the suspects who were tailing them suddenly fired at them, resulting in the instantaneous death of Romeo and the wounding of his wife.

Police are still clueless about the motives behind the attack.
