ILOCOS Sur Gov. Ryan Luis Singson announced in a press conference Monday evening that a patient confined at the local provincial hospital Gabriel Silang in Vigan City was considered a highly probable case for COVID 19 but results of his laboratory tests are still pending.
According to the governor, the patient is a 34-year-old driver of Maria de Leon Bus Line.
He left Manila on the evening of March 14 and was dropped off at Magsingal, Ilocos Sur at 4 a.m. on March 15.
On March 16, the patient developed cough and headache which persisted and progressed. On March 22, he had high fever and had difficulty breathing. He was initially isolated at Ilocos Sur District Hospital-Magsingal but was later transferred to the provincial hospital.
CT-scan rendered bilateral pneumonia suggestiuve of classic COVID-19, moderate in degree by British Society of Thoracic Imaging guidelines.
Gov. Singson also bared that Ilocos Sur has 11,197 persons under monitoring and 11 considereed under PUI (persons under investigation. shocking the public since authorities kept on saying that there is no COVID case in the province.
