MARIVELES, Bataan — In her bid to identify and solve the murder of the head of the Management Information Service (MIS), Mayor Jocelyn P. Castańeda revealed Wednesday afternoon clues and angles that may lead to the possible identification of the gunmen and brains behind the killing.
In a press briefing, Castañeda said probers should look into the “death threats, and interview potential sources of information like me, (Mayor Castañeda herself) that may provide important angles and clues on the killing of Jonathan dela Cruz, MIS head.”
“Until now, we are not being asked and interviewed by probers,” lamented the mayor.
But Col. Joel K. Tampis, police director, clarified that they are looking into the angles revealed by the mayor.
During the press conference, Aubreynel dela Cruz, brother of the victim, asked newsmen to rectify news about the cellular phone and dash cam of his brother.
Aubreynel showed newsmen proof that the gadgets were properly turned over to the NBI.
“Wala namang kinalaman si Mayor Castañeda sa phone at dash cam ng brother ko dahil kami mismo ang bumawi nito sa Mariveles police at nagdecide ang aming pamilya na ibigay sa NBI para ebidensya para makakuha sila ng informasyon dito,” said Aubreynel.
Tampis has announced the creation of a Special Investigation Task Force (SITF) to look into the murder.
The killing sent shock waves on this once peaceful environment of this town that also earned the ire of Gov. Abet S. Garcia who ordered the police to look into it.
Tampis said the SITF is composed of various PNP units such as the Highway patrol, Criminal Investigation Unit, local police and others.Publication Source : People's Tonight
