Metro’s No. 1 most wanted caught in Aklan hideout

A MAN tagged as Metro Manila’s no. 1 most wanted person has been arrested by agents of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in his hiding place in New Washington, Aklan, NCRPO director, Major General Debold M. Sinas reported yesterday.

Jimwell Abarra, 21, fishpond caretaker residing in Bgy. 998, Sitio Puso in Sta. Ana, Manila, was arrested on the strength of a warrant for murder issued by Judge Renato Enciso of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 12 last February 12.

No bail was recommended for Abarra’s temporary liberty.

Sinas said members of the NCRPO Anti-Terrorism Task Group, the Rcegional Intelligence Division, Regional Special Operations Group, Regional Mobile Force Battalion and the Manila Police District, with the help of the Aklan police tracked down the suspects in his hideout in Bgy. Jalas in New Washington, Aklan 7 p.m. last Tuesday.

A tip from an informant triggered a surveillance operation which led to the capture of the suspect, said the official.

The suspect will be presented to the Manila RTC Branch 12 for proper disposition.

Sinas said Abarra became the 3rd most wanted person in the metropolis to be arrested this year.

Two of them identified as Prelan Garma and Franciso Torion were arrested respectively in Leyte in Eastern Visayas and Butuan City in Caraga region.

Sinas said the arrests were the result of their reinvigorated Coplan Pagtugis aimed at accounting for all wanted persons in Metro Manila who have transferred to different provinces to elude authorities.
