FORT Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija -- A minor reshuffle of camp commanders took place in this Philippine Army camp with the holding of a joint change of command rites at the Kaugnay Officers’ Clubhouse here on Monday.
Maj. Gen. Filemon T. Santos Jr., 7th Infantry Division (ID) commander, presided over the change-of-command ceremony, installing Lt. Cols. Michael B. Bautista and Eugenio Julio C. Osias IV as the acting commandant of the Division Training School (DTS) and the acting commanding officer of the Civil-Military Operations Battalion (CMOBn), respectively.
Bautista replaced Lt. Col. Jose Ambrocio F. Rustia while Osias IV took over from Lt. Col. Eugene M. Villaluz.
In his message, Bautista thanked Santos and the other 7ID senior officers for the trust and opportunity given to him to lead the DTS.
For his part, Osias proposed that the CMO should work closely with the other units of the Kaugnay Division, to become more relevant in their contribution to the 7ID mission.
With reliable and time-tested Army officers taking over the important units of 7ID, Maj. Gen. Santos said that he is confident that all gains of the units will be sustained and will be further improved upon. He also thanked the outgoing officers for giving their best for their respective units during their previous stints.
Osias said the 7th Division Training School is where all new soldier-recruits of the 7ID are trained and educated to think and act as a soldier, while the 7th Civil Military Operations Battalion handles all the military-civilian activities and relevant community support programs (CSP), bringing the Army closer to the people.
Villaluz said CMO is the 7th ID’s command that greatly contributes to the ultimate defeat of the enemy without firing a gun.
