CABANATUAN CITY — Nueva Ecija’s number one wanted man who is facing a string of criminal cases ranging from murder, frustrated murder and gun ban violation finally fell into the hands of the police during a joint operation by several police units conducted in Victoria, Tarlac on Tuesday morning.
Provincial police director Col. Leon Victor Z. Rosete identified the arrested suspect as Jeremy Itan, 39, dispatcher, of Bgy. Ilog Baliwag, Quezon, Nueva Ecija.
Members of various mobile force groups from the region and the province, including intelligence and investigation units from the Angeles City and Tarlac police and the NEPPO, and municipal police stations of Cabiao, Licab and Victoria arrested the suspect at his hideout in Bgy. San Jacinto at 5:30 a.m.
Rosete said the suspect’s arrest came following weeks of intense surveillance operations conducted against him.
He said the suspect was arrested by virtue of two alias arrest warrants for murder with no bail recommended issued on August 15, 2017 and March 2, 2011, a warrant for frustrated murder dated March 14, 2011 with P200,000 recommended bail for his temporary liberty and an alias arrest warrant for violation of the Omnibus Election Code (gun ban), issued respectively by the Gapan City and Guimba regional trial courts, the Cabanatuan RTC Branch 36 and the Guimba RTC branch 31.
Rosete said the arrested suspect is now in the custody of the Victoria police pending the issuance of commitment order from the court.
