AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group on Saturday captured an elusive most wanted kidnapping-for-ransom, murder and rape suspect in a manhunt operation in Norzagaray, Bulacan, a report to PNP chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa said yesterday.
PNP-AKG director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo identified the arrested suspect as Eddie Abega Abad, a resident of Sitio Tabing Ilog in Barangay Matiktik in Norzagaray municipality.
Estomo said that the suspect is the subject of a warrant of arrest for kidnapping-for-ransom and serious illegal detention issued by Judge Pedro Gutierrez of the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 119; a warrant of arrest of murder issued by Marikina Judge Alice Gutierrez; and a warrant of arrest for rape issued by an Abuyog, Leyte court. No bail was recommended for the liberty of the suspect.
The official said that PNP-AKG operatives led by Colonel Edward Cutiyog and Lieutenant Montano Nuestro arrested the suspect at 10:35 p.m. Saturday in his residence following tips provided by some local residents.
Also acting on a tip from an informant, PNP-AKG officers early morning yesterday arrested a man wanted for a murder case in his hiding place in San Pablo City in Laguna.
Estomo said that Marlon Briz, the subject of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Agripino Morga of the San Pablo City RTC Branch 32 with no bail recommended was tracked down in Bgy. San Cristobal 5:15 a.m. yesterday.
The suspect did not resist arrest when surrounded by PNP-AKG operatives led by Major Ryan Jay Capurcos, he said.
Estomo said that the arrest was made after his men received an information about the whereabouts of the suspect. The two suspects are now being held at the PNP-AKG lock-up facility in Camp Crame prior to his presentation to court, said the official.
