SAN JOSE City -- Senator JV Ejercito yesterday said the endorsement of his father, former President and re-electionist Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada, was the “highlight” of his reelection bid, coming at a time when the elections are just a few days away.
“Masarap ang pakiramdam, siyempre ang tatay ko ang pinaka-highlight,” Ejercito told newmen after his arrival at the city hall here yesterday morning.
“Iyan na po ang katibayan, tinuturo na niya kung sino ang good one, kaya suportado na niya ako,” the re-electionist senator proudly said, referring to when Estrada was seen pointing at him and vouching for the “good one.”
Ejercito said his father’s endorsement of his senatorial bid was a big boost, including those endorsements coming from his Senate colleagues -- Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, Sherwin Gatchalian, Joel Villanueva, Manny Pacquaio, Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, and Senate president Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
He said his campaign bid is “peaking at the right time” with endorsement also coming from the El Shaddai religious group led by Brother Mike Velarde.
“Malaking boost ito from El Shaddai, alam ninyo naman politics is addition, so any support or endorsement is very much welcome,” Ejercito said.
He added that he is also hoping that this “good trajectory” will be sustained until election day.
Ejercito said he was elated in an April pre-election survey showing him ranked between 10th to 16 place.
