A SUSPECTED ‘high-value drug target’ in Bicol region was killed in a firefight with undercover officers in Naga City early morning Wednesday shortly after he sensed that the man who bought P1 million worth of shabu from him was a cop, a Police Regional Office 5 report said.
Suspect Marlon Gonzaga yielded a loaded caliber .38 revolver and some 150 grams of suspected shabu worth P1 million, said PRO5 director, Brigadier General Arnel B. Escobal.
The official said the suspect had just sold the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ to an undercover operative in Barangay Cararayan in Naga City around 5 in the morning when he sensed the ongoing entrapment operation and tried to shoot the poseur.
Back-up operatives returned fire killing the suspect on the spot. The slain suspect’s live-in partner was taken to the local police station for investigation and filing of criminal charges, said Escobal.
