POLICE Regional Office 7 director, Chief Superintendent Debold M. Sinas yesterday said his men are tracking down two men who have been charged with murder in connection with the killing of a radio broadcaster in La Libertad, Negros Oriental last December 28.
The official said the suspects he identified as Jimbe Bastillano and Ariel Pecore, both residents of Barangay Aya in La Libertad municipality fled after killing Gabriel Alburo alias Commander Aguila of the Radio La Libertad past 3 p.m. last December 28.
“This appears to be a killing triggered by a personal grudge and not due to the profession of the victim,” Sinas said.
An investigation showed the suspects had an altercation with the victim inside the cockfighting arena in Bgy. Cantupa prior to the shooting incident.
The two later waited for the victim outside the cockfighting arena in Sitio Magtalisay in Bgy. North Poblacion and shot him dead before fleeing on board a motorcycle.
Sinas said the case has been solved by the La Libertad Municipal Police Station with the filing of a murder case against the suspects before the Dumaguete City Prosecutor’s Office.
