TWO more persons including a Village Councilor were killed in separate incidents on Thursday night in Negros Oriental.
The first fatality was identified as Kagawad Ramonito Handumon, of legal age and resident of Barangay Mabunga, Guihulngan in the said province.
Reports reaching Camp Crame showed the incident occurred at around 6 p.m. a few meters away from the victim’s house.
Accordingly, the victim was standing in the area when the suspect suddenly arrived and shot the victim repeatedly that cause Handmon’s instant death.
After more than one hour, another shooting incident occurred in Barangay Banilad, Bacong, in the said province, victimizing Sergio Sarming, 55.
Sarming was rushed to Holy Child Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
The killings occurred at the height of the Senate investigation regarding the presence of alleged death squad known as KABUGAK or Kawsa Guihulngano. Batok Komunista.
The death squad was said to be behind the series of killings in Negros Oriental.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Oscar Albayalde already ordered the provincial director to conduct an investigation regarding the incident.
