Nigerian missionary kills 2 laborers in Cavite road crash

GENERAL Trias City,  Cavite -- Two construction workers were  killed while another was seriously wounded when they were hit and dragged by a car driven by a Nigerian missionary on Arnaldo Highway,  Barangay Pasong Camachile II yesterday morning.

GenTri police acting chief  Lt. Col. Marlo Solero identified the fatalities as  Roderick Silverio dela Rosa, 47, married, of  Sitio Tirona, Bgy. Santiago, Gen. Trias City, Cavite and  Nico Felicilda Pajaron, of Sitio Tirona, Bgy. Santiago; and the injured as “alias Raz.”

The Nigerian missionary was identified as Oluwafemi Ogunrinde, 28,  of  MS4 B4 L10 Lancaster New City, Navarro, Gen. Trias City.

Police said the victims were fixing a signage at the road construction on Arnaldo Highway when suddenly the Nissan Sentra  hit and dragged them some meters  away.

Dela Rosa who was pinned under the vehicle died on the spot  while Pajaron and Raz were rushed to the Gen. Trias City Doctors Medical Center  in Bgy. Manggahan.

Pajaron  later died while being treated at the hospital and Raz underwent  a surgery.

Police said Ogunrinde tried to escape but he was arrested by responding members of the Pasong Camachile COMPAC near the Liora Homes Subdivision.

The police are now verifying  who is the  owner of the Nissan Sentra (UEA 552) being driven by the suspect.
