Nigerian online scammer arrested in sting

A NIGERIAN national engaged in online scam on Monday was arrested by the police in an entrapment operation in Bgy. Panapaan, Bacoor, Cavite.

Local police chief Lt. Col. Vicente Cabatingan identified the suspect as Kingaley Chisomy Agabi, 27, a native of Imo States Nigeria residing at 08 Champaca St. Andrea 1A, Bgy. Panapaan 6, Bacoor City.

Ico Sol, 28, of Gasan, Marinduque told the police that she fell prey to the suspect.

According to Sol, on August 16, she received messages through online  from alias “Pastor Mark Ken” of Germany saying she won 950 thousand dollars in a lotto draw last week.

The scammer told the victim that he wanted to donate clothes, noodles, milk, soap and 200 thousand dollars to poor and homeless children in the Philippines.

The suspect urged the victim to send money through Smart Padala in exchange of the donation.

On August 26, the suspect demanded again additional P10,000, prompting the victim to seek the help of the police, who immediately set up an entrapment.

The suspect was about to claim the money in a Smart Padala outlet in Bgy. Panapaan when arrested by members of the Bacoor police led by PSSg Richard Fermil.

Recovered from the suspect were one Samsung laptop and four cellphones.
