THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will deploy 14,800 cops to ensure peace and order and safety during the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) to be held here from November 30 to December 11 this year.
According to NCRPO chief, Major General Guillermo Eleazar, the cops will be deployed in Metro Manila particularly in the cities of Manila, Pasay, Makati, San Juan, Pasig and Mandaluyong.
He said the 12 competition venues will be hosting 22 out of 56 sports disciplines.
He added that the 12 competition venues are ready for the 30th SEA Games as per the results of the Security and Survey Inspection (SSI) conducted by respective chiefs of police (COPs) and station commanders (SCs) last August 19 to 23.
The 30th SEA Games will be held in different venues in Metro Manila, Laguna, Bulacan, Tagaytay, Subic and New Clark City sports complex in Capas, Tarlac.
At least 10,000 athletes from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor Leste, Singapore and Vietnam will participate in 543 sports events.
