P100K MJ seized from pusher

ANGELES CITY – Some P100,000 worth of dried marijuana leaves were seized from a suspected pusher during a buy-bust operation at Barangay Anunas here the other day.

Col. Joyce Patrick Sangalang, officer-in-charge of the city police, said the marijuana were confiscated from one Gabriel Angelo Cariño, 22, resident of Xevera Subdivision in nearby Mabalacat City.

The suspect is listed as a high value target level 1 in the city police’s list of drug personalities.

Maj. Dickson Tolentino, commander of Police Station 4, said approximately two kilograms of marijuana bricks wrapped in plastic were confiscated from the suspect after he was arrested for selling P500 worth of the illegal drug to a poseur buyer at Villasol Subdivision in Barangay Anunas here.

The marked peso bill used in the operation was also recovered from Cariño.

The buy-bust operation was conducted with the operatives of the Angeles City Drug Enforcement Unit and Station 5 policemen.

Sangalang said coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency was made before the buy-bust operation was executed.

The suspect is facing charges for violation of sections 5 and 11 for possession and sale of illegal drugs under Republic Act 9165.
