P15M jewelry stolen in Zambo

STILL unidentified thieves broke into a house of a 59-year old millionaire in Zamboanga City and stole an estimated P15 million worth of gold and diamond pieces, police said yesterday.

The Police Regional Office 9 said that the burglary took place inside the residence of Nurul-in Abdulwahid in Casa Saavedra, Candido Drive in Tetuan, Zamboanga City.

The incident was reportedly discovered by the house caretaker identified as Robert Calumpang, 22.
Police said that the suspects gained entry into the house by scaling the terrace. Once inside, they ransacked all rooms at the 2nd floor and stole 15 sets of gold and diamond jewelry, seven cellphones and seven expensive wristwatches amounting to around P15 million.

PRO9 director, Brigadier General Froilan Quidilla said that a thorough investigation into the incident is still being conducted by the Zamboanga City Police Office with the help of the Crime Laboratory Office.
