TWO separate anti-narcotics operations conducted by agents of the Police Regional Office 5 in Bicol region on Black Saturday and Easter Sunday resulted in the arrest of two Nigerian nationals and the seizure of an estimated P18 million worth of shabu, PRO5 director Brigadier General Arnel B. Escobal said.
The official identified the West African nationals as Azubuike Obiaghanwa Onwigbolu,32; and Mbaneto Sopuluchucwu alias “Hermann Kurt Philip,” 22.
Onwigbolu, an Angeles City-based businessman who arrived in Naga City on Holy Friday was arrested after he sold about 200 grams of shabu worth P1.360 million to an undercover officer in Zone 3, Triangulo, Naga City around 2:15 a.m. yesterday.
The sting was conducted by undercover officers of the PRO5 Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and the Naga City DEU in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. Also recovered from the suspect’s possession were the boodle money worth P400,000 topped by one marked P1,000 bill.
Escobal said that during the same operation, the arresting officers also recovered another plastic bag containing an estimated P16 million worth of shabu.
The Bicol police director said Onwigbolu, a resident of Acacia Estate in Manila, and his companion Judith Balaquiao-Camacho, 46, of Barangay San Jose, Bombon, Camarines Sur, were arrested on Black Saturday in Evangelista Street in Bgy. Dinaga, Naga City.
Recovered by officers from the suspects were 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000, the boodle money topped by a marked P1,000 bill and another plastic bag containing another 100 grams of suspected shabu.
