ANGELES CITY – Some P19 million worth of dried marijuana leaves and stalks were confiscated by the police in a buy-bust operation along the Clark Freeport side gate in Bgy. Malabanias here last Thursday.
Police Station 4 commander Maj. Aris Gonzales said the operation led to the arrest of Cris Ramos, 45, a high value target, resident of Imus, Cavite, and Baby Girl Miguel, of legal age, from Tanza, Cavite.
Confiscated from the suspects were 155 bricks of marijuana leaves and 16 pieces of sealed marijuana stalks with DDB value of P19,440,000. The marked P1,000 bill used in the buy-bust and the black Mitsubishi Xpander vehicle used by the suspects were also seized.
Witnesses were requested for inventory and marking of evidence in compliance with Sec. 21 of Republic Act 9165. The arrested suspects and evidence were brought to Police Station 4 for documentation and proper disposition. A complaint for violation of Sec. 5 in Relation to Sec. 26 and Sec. 11 ART II of RA 9165 were filed against the suspects before the Angeles City Prosecutor’s Office.
Meanwhile, a suspected drug den was dismantled by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region III (PDEA3) in Bgy. Sapang Biabas, Mabalacat City, Pampanga, also last Thursday.
In a report submitted to PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva, PDEA-3 Regional Director Christian Frivaldo said five suspects were arrested in the operation. He identified them as Ranie Santomin, 28; Jayson Callejas, 25; Christian Dizon, 23; Jenny Lyn Shin, 23; and Jenny Rose Mendoza, 25.
The anti-drug operation yielded some 12 grams of shabu with DDB value of P81,600 drug paraphernalia, and a black Yamaha Mio used by suspects.
Cases for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects.
