FIVE suspected big-time drug traffickers in Central Visayas and Cavite were arrested in separate drug bust operations on Friday which resulted in the confiscation of nearly P26 million worth of shabu.
Police Regional Office 7 director Chief Superintendent Debold M. Sinas yesterday identified two of the suspects as Dennis Narvasa alias “Badin,” 40; and Wynnel Estriba, 34, both residents of Upper Pailub, Barangay Sambag 2 in Cebu City, who were nabbed by undercover officers from the Cebu City Police Station 11 Drug Enforcement Unit around 2:45 p.m. on Friday.
Recovered from them were seven plastic sachets containing at least 845 grams of shabu with market value of P5.8 million.
Shortly before 12 noon of the same day, a team of anti-narcotics officers arrested Jessica Bernaldez alias “Neng-Neng,” a 53-year-old widower from Sitio Garfield, Bgy. Suba- in, Cebu City after she sold around 55 grams of shabu worth nearly P400,000 to an undercover officer on P. Lopez Street near Sun Gold in Bgy. Sto. Niño, Cebu City. The suspect also yielded the boodle money topped by a marked P500 bill.
In Bohol, anti-narcotics policemen arrested Macario Niluag II,40, of Purok 4, Bgy. Dao in Tagbilaran City, during an entrapment operation in his neighborhood past 5 p.m. and yielded an estimated 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million.
Meanwhile in General Trias City, Cavite, some 1.728 kilos of shabu worth at least P16 million were seized from a notorious pusher from Maguindanao by members of GenTri Drug Enforcement Team Friday afternoon.
General Trias City police acting commander Supt. Paul Bometivo identified the suspect as Sariff Macmod y Kaurak alias “Jhony,” 42, residing at Pasong Buwaya, Imus City, Cavite.
The suspect was arrested after he sold five sachets of shabu to a poseur buyer for P200,000.
Macmod also yielded another 16 pieces of plastic sachets of shabu worth at least P11.7 million.
GenTri Mayor Antonio Ferrer and Congressman Luis Ferrer commended the General Trias police for the successful anti-drug operations .
On the other hand, Sinas lauded the Cebu City police headed by Senior Supt. Royina Garma and her men led by Chief Inspectors Randy Caballes and Edward Sanchez and Senior Inspector Joemar Pomarejos and the Bohol Police Provincial Office under Senior Supt. Angeles Genorga for their latest accomplishment in the war on drugs.
