MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga -- Operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) seized P3.4 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Homesite, Barangay Dau, here last Sunday.
Police Lt. Col. Julius Caesar Mana, officer-in-charge of the PNP-DEG Special Operations Unit 2, said one Jedam Isabelo, 22, from Imus City, Cavite was arrested during the operation conducted by his men.
A poseur-buyer used two marked P1,000 bills with six bundles of boodle money during the operation to buy shabu from the suspect.
After Isabelo accepted the money, he was placed under arrest.
Seized from the suspect’s possession and control was a paper bag containing five pieces of transparent plastic bags of suspected shabu weighing 500 grams with street value of P3.4 million based on the Dangerous Drugs Board’s pricing.
Operatives also confiscated from the suspect a Bureau of Internal Revenue identification card and the marked peso bills and boodle money.
In accordance with Republic Act 10640, the PNP-DEG SOU2 operatives conducted the inventory of the seized pieces of evidence in the presence of barangay officials and a representative from the media.
The seized items were turned over to the PNP Crime Laboratory Group for chemical analysis while the suspect will be subjected to drug test and medical examination.
Isabelo is facing charges for violation of Article II, sections 5 and 11 of the Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous drugs Act of 2002.
