A BUY-BUST operation in Cebu City on Wednesday evening resulted in the arrest of three persons after they conspired to sell more than P700,000 worth of shabu to an undercover officer, Police Regional Office 7 director, Brigadier General Debold M. Sinas said yesterday.
Two of the suspects identified as 40-year-old Lilibeth Navales and Lovelyn Joy Gomotong,18, both residents of A. Lopez Street in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City were identified as ‘high-value targets’ by the local police, said Sinas.
According to the official, members of the Cebu City Police Station 10 led by Major Henrix Bancoleta arrested the two and a companion named Joemarie Suzon,22, a resident of Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur after they conspired to sell the drugs to a poseur in BLISS, Bgy. Labangon past 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Recovered from the possession of the suspects were seven heat-sealed plastic sachets containing 103 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ valued at P700,000 and the boodle money topped by a marked P1,000 bill. Navales’ black 4x4 pick-up was impounded by the arresting officers.
Sinas said the suspects will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
