CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Police operatives led by the Regional Intelligence Division’s Special Concern Unit (RID-SCU) seized about P800,000 worth of illegal logs during an operation in San Miguel, Bulacan over the weekend.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Joel Napoleon Coronel, RID-SCU chief Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal said the seized logs belong to Federico Hernandez, Jeff Evangelista and Jesus Sison.
The operatives, supported by the 303rd Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3, RIU3 and City Environment and Natural Resources Office in Baliuag conducted an anti-illegal logging operation at Zone 4, Bgy. Sibul, San Miguel which resulted in the confiscation of chain-sawed 10,000 board feet of lumber dipterocarp worth P500,000 that allegedly belong to Hernandez and Evangelista.
They also seized some 5,680 board feet of chain-sawed of lumber worth around P294,000 that allegedly belong to Sison.
All seized and hauled assorted lumber were properly turned-over to the CENRO Baliuag for proper documentation and disposition.
