Pampanga stings: 1 slain, guns seized

A suspected member of a crime group was killed while three other persons were arrested in a series of operations conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Pampanga.

In a report to CIDG-Region 3 officer Police Col. Christopher Abrahano, Police Maj. Julito Rabena II, CIDG-Pampanga officer-in-charge, identified the killed suspect as Renato Macapagal alias “Ka Tato”, alleged member of the Aquino Criminal Group engaged in gun-for-hire activities.

Operatives were serving the warrant of arrest against Macapagal issued by the Macabebe Regional Trial Court Branch 54 for violation of Republic Act 10591 with recommended bail of P120,000 when the armed encounter happened at Barangay San Miguel, San Simon town the other day.

The suspect allegedly opened fire at the policemen who retaliated and were able to kill him.

A cal. .45 pistol with four live ammunition and two fired cartridges was found near the suspect’s body.

Earlier, CIDG-Pampanga operatives arrested one Roy Lopez in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City through a search warrant issued by the city’s RTC Branch 57 for violation of RA 10591.

Confiscated from him were a cal. 9mm Armscor and 19 live ammunition and a cal. .45 Para 1911 with five live ammunition.

In Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, CIDG operatives conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of Mark Morillo, 23, and Jesriel Sullano, 31.

Policemen seized from Morillo a cal. .45 pistol with four live ammunition and 11 sachets of suspected shabu while one cal. .38 revolver with six live ammunition and three sachets of suspected shabu were confiscated from Sullano.
