Pampanga stings: Guns, drugs confiscated

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Two handguns and a dozen sachets of shabu were confiscated from two arrested persons in Angeles City and adjacent Mabalacat City the other day.

Sr. Supt. Christopher Abrahano, regional officer of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group- Region 3, identified the suspects as Ernesto De Leon, 32, who had a cal. .38 revolver loaded with three live ammunition with him, and Jayson Pagobo, 38, who yielded a cal. 9mm Armscor pistol with eight live ammunition.

De Leon was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City. Ten sachets of shabu were confiscated from him.

Pagobo was arrested in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat via a court-issued warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

He also yielded three sachets of shabu when arrested.

The CIDG-R3 identifies the suspect as the leader of Pagobo Criminal Group with IR Reference No. CIDGPamp-2018-03-08-001, CIDGAng-2018-06-01 and CIDGAng-2018-11-005 involved in robbery, motor-napping and illegal drugs trafficking. He is listed as top 10 drug personality at the Police Station 4 of Angeles City Police Office.

The arrested suspects are facing charges for violation of RA 9165 for illegal drugs and RA 10591 for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

In Barangay Lakandula, Mabalacat City, CIDG operatives arrested one Aaron Vijar, 24, through a court-issued alias warrant of arrest for violation of RA 7610 with recommended bail of P80,000.
