THE Baguio police yesterday said there was no foul play in the death of 4th class cadet Mario Telan Jr. who was found drowned in the swimming pool of the Philippine Military Academy on Friday.
Police said an initial investigation showed that Telan Jr. appeared to have drowned in the campus’ swimming pool.
The PMA also said there was no foul play in the death of Telan based on a CCTV footage.
Telan, who was desbribed as a non-swimmer, was found 15 feet under water at the deep end of the PMA swimming pool.
PMA spokesperson Capt. Cheryl Tindog said an investigation is ongoing to determine the possible liability of the on-duty swimming instructors.
“We are currently investigating the two swimming instructors for possible security lapses which led to Telan’s death,” she said.
