POLICE Regional Office 12 director Brigadier General Alfred S. Corpus yesterday announced the filing of multiple frustrated murder and multiple attempted murder charges against seven suspects in last month’s bombing in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
Corpus, in a report to Philippine National Police chief General Oscar D. Albayalde said five of the suspects charged before a local prosecutor’s office were suspected ISIS sympathizers who have been arrested by combined PRO12 and military intelligence agents last September 23.
The other suspects are still being hunted as of press time, he said.
Corpus said that four of the suspects identified as Normia Antao Camsa, Norshiya Joven Camsa, Abedin Camsa alias ‘Beds’ and Swedish national Hassan Akgun, were arrested during the simultaneous service of search warrants for illegal possession of explosives in Sitio Nakan, Barangay Kapaya in Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat.
Another suspect identified as KamlonTongab Camsa, the purported vice-chairman of the Moro National Liberation Front Military Affairs (Sabiwang State) was arrested in General Santos City while in possession of a bag found to be containing two hand grenades, said the PRO12 director.
Corpus said that two other suspects identified as Rashid Joven Camsa and Maira Tungab Alimao remained at-large as well as the rest of the suspects who were named only as John Does in the complaint sheet.
At least seven innocent persons were injured in the improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in front of a public market in Isulan last September 7.
The official lauded members of the Special Investigation Task Group Manolette for the speedy resolution of the case even as he further encouraged the public to maintain their vigilance in reporting the presence of suspicious activities and unattended bags and packages in their areas.
