AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Intelligence Group (PNP-IG) over the weekend captured five of the country’s most wanted criminals following separate operations in the countryside, PNP-IG director, Brigadier General Edgar S. Monsalve announced yesterday.
One of the suspects identified as Lorenzo Pamplona, one of Calabarzon region’s most wanted persons who carries a P90,000 bounty on his head, was tracked down in his hiding place in Barangay Pandacaqui in Mexico, Pampanga by the PNP-IG with the help of officers from the Pampanga Police Provincial Office and the Police Regional Offices 3 and 4-A, the official said in a report to PNP chief, General Oscar D. Albayalde.
Monsalve said the suspect is the subject of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Antonio Manzano of the Calamba City Regional Trial Court Branch 37 in Laguna.
The second identified as John Michael Aranza, another most wanted murder suspect, was arrested by members of the Regional Intelligence Unit 7 and the local police in Bgy. Bangkal in Carles, Iloilo City last Saturday.
Monsalve said Aranza is one of Western Visayas’ most wanted men and is the subject of a P90,000 bounty offered by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
On Monday, RIU13 agents, joined by officers from the PRO13 also arrested three suspected members of the so-called Oto Private Armed Group operating in Caraga region and all wanted for murder, the official said.
Monsalve said that one of the three identified as Warren Ebaldone was arrested during an operation in Purok 5, Bgy. Poblacion in Loreto, Agusan del Sur.
