THE Philippine National Police and the SM Management on Wedneday formalized a new agreement to establish the National Police Clearance hubs in selected SM Malls nationwide to make police frontline services more accessible to the public as ordered by President Duterte.
PNP chief, General Camilo Pancratius P. Cascolan and SM Prime Holdings President Jeffrey Lim l signed the Memorandum of Agreement at the Government Services Express located at the 2nd floor of the SM Mall of Asia’s north parking building in Pasay City.
Gen. Cascolan said the agreement will operationalize the police clearance booths in SM malls to serve better the Filipino people.
Within a month, the PNP, thru the efforts of the PNP Center for Police Strategy Management headed by Brigadier Gen. Rhoderick Armamento completed all operational and documentary requirements with the SM Supermalls Management as part of the PNP’s stronger partnership with various stakeholders.
Gen. Cascolan was joined by Armamento, PNP Director for Police-Community Relations, Brig. Gen. Rhodel O. Sermonia and PNP Director for Investigation and Detective Management, Major Gen. Marni C. Marcos during the event.
SM Shopping Center Management Corp. president Steven Tan and SM Mall of Asia Mall Manager, Amy Gonzales were also present during the occasion.
The PNP chief said that the relocation of national police clearance desks in SM Malls will provides added convenience and ease of access to frontline PNP services, aside from decongesting PNP camps and installations.
After the completion phase of first police clearance desks in SM MOA, the PNP and SM Management are also eyeing pilot branches in SM Southmall, SM North EDSA, SM Bacoor, SM Pampanga, SM Cabanatuan, SM Cebu, and SM Cagayan de Oro.
