POLICE Regional Office 4-A director, Brigadier General Vicente D. Danao Jr. yesterday said they are 100 percent ready to ensure the safety and security of thousands of people expected to flock to different sites in Calabarzon region during the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day this week.
Following a directive from Philippine National Police Officer-in-Charge, Lieutenant General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, the PRO4-A director said he has also placed the entire Calabarzon police force under full alert status.
Danao said that some 7, 239 PRO4-A personnel from the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon police provincial offices and the PRO4-A Regional Public Safety Battalion will be deployed for the ‘Ligtas Undas 2019’ this week.
The official said he has ordered stepped-up police visibility in all places of convergence, piers and bus and jeepney terminals as well as public cemeteries and private memorial parks in the region.
Danao said that a total of 1,430 Police Assistance Hubs will be established in cemeteries, commercial areas, parks, and community centers as well as major tourist destinations in the region this week.
He added that they will also be getting assistance from some 14,165 ‘force multipliers’ coming from various local government units and civilian volunteers in securing around 562 cemeteries in the entire region.
Danao said he ordered the intensified security operations and public safety plans to ensure a secured, safe and orderly observance of ‘Undas’ this week in the region.
He particularly underscored the need to extend protection and assistance to motorists and commuters who will be traveling to the provinces via the Aguinaldo Highway in Cavite, South Luzon Expressway in Laguna, Southern Tagalog Access Road in Batangas and other national highways in Rizal and Quezon provinces.
