POLICE Regional Office 6 director, Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan the other day told People’s Tonight he has ordered a full inventory of all dangerous drugs confiscated by his men in Western Visayas from January to September this year as part of their transparency program.
The inventoried drugs, seized by Drug Enforcement Units from the Iloilo City and Bacolod City Police Offices from January 1 to September 15 were presented by the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 6 to the local press.
Pamuspusan said that the presentation of the inventoried drugs is part of their program to show to the public the procedures being followed by anti-narcotics officers starting from the recovery of the drugs during anti-narcotics operations until they are documented and submitted to the Crime Lab for safekeeping and up to the time cases are filed in court.
The official said the strict procedures aims to check the integrity and credibility of all cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 being filed by the local police.
During the media presentation, local journalists were also shown the RCLO6 chemistry room in which only the assigned chemists and evidence custodia are authorized to enter.
