A notorious drug suspect was killed in Cavite while two suspected drug suppliers were arrested in Batangas, police reported yesterday.
The fatality, Jordan Bernal, of Bgy. 48A, Cavite City, said to be brandishing a pistol, died while being treated for gunshot wounds.
Police said Bernal, armed with a cal. .45 pistol, opted to fight it off with the policemen at 2:15 p.m.
A police poseur-buyer transacted with the suspect who agreed to meet him in Bgy. 48A. The suspect, however, sensed that the people near their meeting were policemen so he ran away and fired at the poseur who dove for cover in the canal. Police retaliated and hit the suspect who was rushed to the hospital but died later.
Batangas police director Senior Supt. Edwin Aguilan Quilates identified the two drug suppliers as Muslimin Saluiguidan Tukas, alias Mos, and Renato Ranises Sta. Maria, alias Mark, who were arrested by members of the Batangas City police, provincial police PIO chief Senior Insp. Senior Insp. Hazel P. Luma-ang said the other day.
Quilates said the Provincial Intelligence Branch-Drug Enforcement Agency (PIB-PDEA) Batangas and the Batangas City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Supt. Sancho O. Celedio conducted a buy-bust operation against the suspect at 5 p.m. in Bgy. Bolbok.
The team confiscated from the suspects, whom police identified as newly-identified drug personalities, a plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing 25 grams and P60,000 faked marked money.
Meanwhile, Cavite police also netted 22 drug suspects. They were Jorem Moreno, 25, of Isahville, Bgy. Pinagsanhan-B, Maragondon town; Philidore Perdon and Zandrex Aceveda, 38, both of Bgy. Malia; Ramir Don, alias ‘Migo’, of Bgy. Memije; Christoper Rosal; Roger Aston, 65, and Gleselda Canabelan, 43, all of Bgy. Malia; Renato Catan alyas ‘Cocoy’, 41` of Bgy. Memije, all in GMA; Jocelyn Priest, 56, Jay R. Vinas, 33, Christopher Zoleta, 43, Alberto Brun, Mabel Rentosa, 30, and Herminilda Orlino, 46, all of Bgy. Kaypaba, General Emilio Aguinaldo town; Marvisor Villanueva, 39, of Bgy. Hugo Perez; Feliciano Corpuz and Anthony Casanova, 38, both of Bgy. Malia, GMA; Dennis Enriquez, 35, of Bgy. Sapa 3; Renato Acosta, 52, of Bgy. Silangan 2; Arsenio Ricasata, 41, of Bgy. Bagbag 1, all of Rosario; John Lloyd Orosco, 23, of Bgy. Mambog II, Bacoor City, and Sonny Cuevas, 41, of Tropical Village, Pabahay 2000, Bgy. San Francisco, GenTri City.
